HORSE HANDLING 101
Enrichment Program
Take your love of horses to the next level with our Horses Handling 101 Class! This class is a great opportunity for both new and experienced students to learn about horse care. In this non-riding class, students will practice their horse-handling skills through hands-on activities like grooming and leading and increase their knowledge about horse safety, anatomy, tack and equipment, behavior, and herd dynamics through horse care activities.
Students must safely be able to:
- Follow verbal directions
- Maintain quiet bodies and calm voices in horse zone
- Gently groom and interact with the horse on the ground
- Wear appropriate safety attire (boots)
- Feel comfortable working on the ground with the horse (ex: grooming, leading, tacking, etc)
- Note about Neurodiversity: T.R.O.T.R. is a certified adaptive riding center. If you have a neuro-diverse child and are wondering if our program would be a good fit please feel free to reach out to our office.
When: Last Saturday of each month, 8 am-10am
