For Adventurers in grades 1-3
At T.R.O.T.R, we believe children need to be outside and moving around, experiencing the routines of animal care, and being introduced to skills like making mud pies and building forts. Best of all, we believe children need to get dirty. Like life on a working farm, these classes and sessions take place rain or shine. By working together to care for our animals, children learn the true meaning and importance of empathy, which quickly carries over to peer interactions.
The ever-changing, natural environment at T.R.O.T.R. Four Winds Farm presents endless opportunities for children to work together and learn problem-solving skills as they approach projects ranging from building a new garden bed and planting seasonal produce to designing and creating a goat playground! They begin to develop a strong sense of self by exploring their independence, taking risks, overcoming challenges, and navigating peer relationships.
Our Adventurers Program is designed to help children experience the great outdoors through intentional learning and discovery-based curriculum. In this program, which is offered as part of our home school curriculum, students learn naturalist skills, participate in physical education through scavenger hunts and games, work on farm and garden projects, and have fun with their friends. This outdoor farm course encompasses essential elementary skills and learning activities through outdoor and farm experiences.
6-week session, meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-12pm | $400
