Therapeutic Riding and Off-Track Rehabilitation

Alta Regional Center Clients

Therapeutic Riding and Off-Track Rehabilitation (T.R.O.T.R.) offers "adaptive horsebackriding," which refers to a specialized form of horseback riding instruction tailored to individuals with disabilities or special needs. The emphasis is on providing a supportive and inclusive environment where riders can experience the joy of horseback riding with the assistance they need. The team consists of one of our amazing ponies, a kind and patient instructor, possibly an additional person leading the horse, and others walking alongside to ensure safety and support. The goal is to make horseback riding accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of their abilities or challenges.

Quite simply, our program combines recreational horseback riding instruction with concepts of physical, occupational, and social/emotional therapies to help riders achieve their therapeutic and other life goals.
